What a weekend!!!

This weekend I had the privilege of carrying our youth to a Braves game & Six Flags! We had 35 people go and to say I was nervous about ALL of the details would have been a slight understatement. I was afraid our tickets wouldn’t work, the kids would not listen to me, my chaperones would not have fun, and the list goes on and on. Praise the Lord everything went as planned! My students were AMAZING! I did NOT have to get on to ANY of them and they met me at every check point throughout the day. We are blessed at RFBC with some great students.

We went to the game and cheered our hearts out & we danced the night away! The firework show at the end of the game was unbelievable!! The kids had a great time and then we headed over to our old pastor’s church and spent the night! We arose early the next morning and headed out on our adventure. There were no lines that morning and we rode LOTS of rides!!

So.. now I am back in the office working with volunteers, getting things ready for the mission trip, freedom fest, and youth group!!  Ways you can pray this week: that our sweet youth group would grow in their love for Christ and their love for each other. Also, pray for the man that God will call to our church for youth ministry and that our students would instantly connect to him.

Where do I begin???

Well, I recently got a twitter account and I love it and so I thought what is next.... UMMM... A BLOG!!!

I am newly hired first year teacher at a Christian School where I will be teaching the 5th grade!! WOW!! I have always worked with younger kids but God has different plans for me this next year. To say I am excited about my new job would be an UNDERSTATEMENT! I am looking so foward to designing my behavior plan, decorating my classroom, and meeting my students.. But all of that "stuff" is not mine it is God's and I cannot wait to see how He is going to choose to use me this next year!

I am beginning the planning phase of getting everything ready for the classroom.. I have labeled ALL 125452198 of my children book collection (really only like 500) and I have searched how to organize my classroom, ways to decorate a classroom, and many other topics. I have found so many amazing things and I cannot wait to implement them in a classroom.

On top of being a newly hired teacher... I have a full-time job at my church right now working with tornado relief volunteers, the youth, and our upcoming mission trip. I am trying to find time to plan a classroom and it can become OVERWHELMING!! During my quiet time this morning, I read about how God wants to be in every decision that I make throughout the day and it is my job to PRAY about all things and He will make my weak attempts to do everything worth it. God is teaching my about having FAITH in Him and that He always knows what is best for me!

Well, I think it is time to go to bed... I am taking the youth to a Braves game and Six Flags this weekend and I have several last minute things to accomplish in the morning... If you read my crazy blog please pray that through all of the craziness of life I take time and PRAY about everything and allow God to be the center of my life and my classroom.
